Not dead, only sleeping

I know that it might seem like I have given up on deviantART but that is definitely not the case! I'm checking dA regularly but I just haven't submitted any new photographs. I have taken a whole bunch! Some pretty good actually, if I may say. I'm going to upload them as soon as I get time - meaning, in the next couple of days. I haven't been abroad or anything so there won't be any more Africa pictures. But I have taken some nice shots of Sweden covered in a beautiful layer of snow :)

The reason behind the lack of updates is that I have been pretty busy with life, school, love, church and keeping the blog updated. In case you didn't know, I have a small blog where I write about whatever comes to mind called N-dunder [link] It is in Swedish so most of you probably won't understand a word. But I would very much appreciate if you take a look at it and give me some comment or critique on the design. I also run another blog with a friend of mine which actually isn't updated so often nowadays. It's called E-dunder [link] Please comment on that one as well :D I haven't made any major design efforts in it, but I was thinking of giving it a real makeover and maybe start updating it again :)

I don't understand the pen tool... How do you use it? I can make a line, but not fill it with colours?

have you ever used illustrator or any program like it? What you do is simply draw a shape by adding anchor points and adjusting the handles to get the shape you want, perfectly smooth. First you select the pen tool, then in the upper menu you switch from the icon that looks like a rectangle to the icon with the pen inside the rectangle. Then you can start drawing your shape. You can adjust the anchor points and handles by holding down the buttons ctrl, alt and shit (on a pc), one at a time and clicking the first mouse button and holding it down while you move around until you have the shape you want. hovering over the anchor points with the cursor will show you the different tools while you hold down ctrl etc. You can find your paths in the same menu as the layers. I hope I made it somewhat clear to you :)

When you've finished drawing a shape you can either stroke it by right clicking the shape-layer or select it and then fill it with a color or gradient.

Thank you very much! :D I haven't updated it in a long, long time but I will as soon as I get time. I have lots do to these days but when I get my new portfolio running I will update both there and here on dA :) I really like your deviations Shoes I, Give me your hand and Garden. Did you paint the last one yourself? It's fantastic! Love the colours!
